Harpal Singh is a UK-based AI SEO consultant and the founder of blimpp. He helps brands get cited and recommended by AI engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. He runs his own measurement tooling and his own Reddit intervention operation, and he is currently proving the methodology on himself, in public, over 100 days, from a baseline of zero.
What does an AI SEO consultant actually do?
An AI SEO consultant works out which pages the AI engines read when buyers ask about your category, then gets you onto them. Some of those pages already exist, the comparison lists and the buyer threads, and the work is earning a place on them. Some don’t exist yet, and the work is building the page that deserves the citation. Everything gets measured: what the engines said before, what changed after, and which intervention moved it.
Background
Before this I spent my career in performance marketing, running paid media on Google and Meta, later Amazon, for DTC brands, then moving into fractional CMO work. Along the way I built LeoSEO, a tool that asks the AI engines hundreds of buyer questions and maps every page they cite, and UpRate.io, a managed Reddit intelligence service, because Reddit turned out to be the most cited source in AI answers and almost nobody was treating it that way.
Who I work with
I work with DTC and B2B brands who want to be the answer when their buyers ask an AI who to trust. Founders and CMOs mostly, sometimes their in-house teams, usually at the point where they’ve noticed a competitor turning up in ChatGPT’s recommendations and want to know why.
Questions people ask
What is AI SEO? AI SEO is the work of making a brand visible in AI-generated answers rather than in ranked links. The engines assemble answers from pages they retrieve, so AI SEO means being present on those pages, or being the page.
How is it different from traditional SEO? Traditional SEO competes for positions on a results page. AI SEO competes for presence inside a written answer, and the sources feeding that answer are often not the top-ranked pages: forums, comparison lists and community threads carry far more weight than they ever did in blue-link search.
How can I see what AI says about my brand? Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google the questions your buyers actually ask, then read the sources each answer cites. Those pages are deciding your category’s reputation. Most brands have never looked at them.
Do you work with agencies? Yes, both directly for brands and alongside in-house or agency teams who want the measurement and Reddit layers handled.
Where are you based? London, UK. Working with UK and international brands remotely.
